The Hilltop Cabin is nestled on a rocky site near the sea by the border between Norway and Sweden. It replaces a dilapidated post-war cabin and sits in an an area densely populated by holiday homes. The proposal negates a steep topography and aims to maximise sunlight, views and as well as activating the natural landscape of the site. In site concrete foundation straddles the rockface allowing for the building to compliment the natural formations and vegetation that surrounds it. The familiar roof forms resonates with something that has been extended and built upon over time, whilst also providing a series of interconnected spaces inside, outside and somewhere in between.
